Committee
About us:
Since 2006, a range of Ballarat services, agencies and interested people have come together to explore early years literacy in our community and develop a co-ordinated strategy.
Ballarat Early Years Literacy Strategy
The strategy is a result of a strong partnership between a range of services across Ballarat. Whilst still a work in progress our strategy covers three main areas which include :
- Various programs that involve giving books to children and information about the importance of reading to parents via the Maternal & Child Health Program (i.e. Lets Read, Young Readers Program) and we are also hoping to develop our own Ballarat black & white board book to give to all newborns
- Professional Development opportunities such as the Walking on Words Early Years Literacy Conference.
- Information sharing, collaboration and partnership development.
Membership is open to any interested person or agency.
